When do you think it is the right time to schedule a first visit ,when u are pregnant

OB's typically schedule your first visit around 8 weeks. It's hard to wait that long, especially with your first. With my first I found an OB who scheduled a consultation immediately, prescribed prenatal vitamins and answered a lot of questions I had. Then she scheduled my 8 week appointment.

What sort of questions do you think I should ask

Every OB has their own schedule so I asked when they do what types of appointments (when they do ultrasounds, blood tests, etc.) My sister-in-law's OB is very different than mine. She sees a nurse for most visits unless there is a problem. I see a doctor EVERY time and it is very reassuring for me.
I asked about their procedure for when I go into labor, what foods are best/worst, what exercise I could/couldn't do, how much weight is healthy to gain, I have back problems so I asked how to limit the pregnancy's affect on my back, what symptoms are cause for concern-bleeding, excessive vomiting, fever, etc. I asked about taking hot baths, using a whitening toothpaste, safety of artificial sweetners and caffeine during pregnancy, what medicines are safe to take and the list goes on and on. But these were my concerns related to my lifestyle. Just think about what you do or don't do on a daily basis and decide what is of concern to you. You also might want to consider asking what their policy is on things like episiotomy (sp?) assisted deliveries and anesthesia if these are things that are important to you. You also need to consider what hospitals the OB is on staff for. If you have a favorite hospital you need to make sure your OB is on staff there.
There are also great books you can read to help reassure you that the symptoms you are having are very normal and healthy part of pregnancy. What to Expect When You're Expecting was one of my favorites. There are also many many websites that you can register for and they will give you daily/weekly/monthly updates on your pregnancy and your growing fetus.
I would also advise taking the time to find an OB that you are comfortable with. I switched OB's after I called my first one with a concern and she was rude and condescending. The OB I chose next is fabulous! I've had two babies with them and I love them. The nurses are always available for questions and when I had a concern near the end of my first pregnancy with my first born they got me right into the office, which was a good thing because I ended up having to be induced right away.
This is such an exciting time for you. I am a bit jealous as I am more than ready for baby #3 and my husband thinks that two is the perfect number.

You see I am so so so happy, this is my first pregnancy and it took forever to get pregnant.
I only found out a week ago. I just scheduled an appointment with an obgyn, but like you said if I am not too comfortable with him, I can switch.
I will write down all d questions you listed and think of more questions to ask.
I have a lot of magazines on expecting, so I will keep myself busy.
