    Wedding showers
My son's future in-laws live about a 1/2 hour form us. I was told the shower would be a certain date in March. Three to four weeks later I received notice that the shower must be small and I could ask about 3 people. We offered our home and was met with a negative response. I then said I would have a shower in July. My future daughter in law said she "may "have a baby shower the weekend I chose for the shower. My question is what do I do? Tell them I'll be at their shower and show up with 6-8 people. Do I just can the shower I was going to plan? HELP!!

Go to their shower---and then have one of your own for your side of the family.

I had 3 wedding showers. One for my in-laws, one for my family, and one with co-workers. Yes, there were overlaps, but no one felt obligated to go to ALL of them.

I agree with Synnen. Go to their shower with the appropriate number of people, and then arrange a time and date for your own that works with the bride-to-be's schedule.
