Can a hood be on the same 20A circuit with already 2 duplex GFCI receptacles
In my kitchen I have 2 duplex GFCI receptacles above the countertop on one 20A circuit.
I cannot pull an extra wire through the existing conduit so would like to hook up the hood and the range (all gas but needs power for the electronics) on that same circuit.

Does the NEC 2005 code allow for that or do I need to install a separate circiut? I live in Illinois - USA.

    Thanks
    Jack

TKrussel, thanks for the quick reply. The additional outlet specifically for the range will be placed hidden behind the range. Does is need to be GFCI?

About my kitchen island. I have one big countertop (48x96 inches). I read somewhere that I only need 1 duplex receptacle GFCI as this is considered 1 countertop. Is that correct or do I need more?
Can I place them below the countertop as I have nothing to place them above. With below I mean on the backwall of the island where I have to reach like 6 inches underneath the island countertop (which is sticking out on the back) to reach it. It will be nice out of sight this way and we don't plan on using. It is more to pass inspection later.
How many inches below the countertop can I place it?

More questions than I thought. Sorry...
    thanks

No, the outlet for a gas range does not need to be GFI protected.

As long as the islnad does not have any range, cooktop, or sink, this counter will only need one GFI outet.

I would recommend at least two, but that is up to you.

You may locate the outlet anywhere.
