Getting a driver's license in another state
Hi, my suspension time is over, but in Pa. I must have an interlock license for a period of one year, which I failed to apply for a year ago. My question is: Couldn't I apply for one in a neighboring state? After all, my court sentence in up. Thanks, Michelle

No, you can not get a license in a state you don't live in. If you move and live in another state you may apply, but one of the questions when you apply is ( is your license suspended in another state)

So no you can not live in this state and have another states license. Also if you did do it, and lied and said you lived in that other state ( you will still need a copy of a rent recietp or a copy of a untility bill in your name)
The license would only be good for 30 days (or less) once you "moved" back into your own state.

And depending on the laws of your state, ( I can reflect Georgias) the police if you were stopped would treat it perhaps as a fake license if you really did not move to that other state

I thought about that, also, my disability would have to be changed to that address too, so sometimes it is better to be an illegal alien...

Tell me about it, I moved to Georgia a few months ago, I went to the DMV with my birth certificate ( the one I have used since I was 16 to get my drivers license and get into the military. A copy of my electric bill and my old drivers liense.

Well guess what, they said my old birth certificate was not good enough any longer, I had to order a new type from the state.

But there were non english speaking people there that appeared to have no really paper work getting service and going though.

And it was even worst when I tried to register my car, I still did nothave a GA drivers license, waiting for the new birth certificate.
So because I did not have a GA drivers license, there would not register my car.
