    Whirlpool dryer
I have a Whirlpool dryer which stopped heating. I changed thermostat kit and also thermal fuse along with cleaning out vent. Seemed to solve my problem as dryer was working great. Then I noticed an electrical smell and crackling sound coming from the breaker box which is located in the same room and it seems to stop heating. It will do this and then be fine for several loads. Is the breaker bad or is there some other problem with the dyer and the amps its pulling?

It sounds like you have an electrical problem in your breaker panel

Turn off power to dryer and remove panel cover there should be 3 wires

Or 4 wires -- remove them one at a time cut off end if possible and restrip

Ends and tighten back under lugs -- make sure they are tightened...

Turn power back on and try dryer -- if this doesn't fix it then the breaker

    Probably needs replaced...
