    Washer repair assist
I have a LNC6764A71 model number Admiral top load, HD Large capacity washer-- it was making a rather loud screetch noise- it was agitating and all- then it stopped and I could smell hot plastic.

The noise seemed to be coming from behind the control panel area- is this a control issue or could it be a motor going bad- and how can I distinguish at this point?

Where do I start if it is worth it?

    Thanks
