I'm a junior in high school and I really want to start my own environmental group at my school. I think it would be really cool to start up this club and help people become more aware of gobal arming and what we can do to help. The only problem is I don't know where to start. Any suggestions?

First, what do you want to promote? My high school implemented recycling bins all throughout the school and had a contest in which the "homeroom" that recycled the most at the end of the semester got pizza.

After you have an idea of what you want to do, talk to a teacher to sponsor you. Then find a few friends, and go from there.

Well I basically wanted to start a group that would promote recycling and plan specific events to help out in global warming.

That's sort of what we did. Do you have friends who are interested? For us, we got the principal to sign off on a recycling contract with the local waste management company.

After 3 years or so, we promoted "earth day" where we planted trees in the courtyard after school and people wore green and things of that nature.
