I purchased a HB ceiling fan 54" Model Windward II and had an elecrician come in and install it. All of the functions are working via the remote control (light , dimmer , reverse of the fan) the only thing I find funny is that it does NOT produce any wind. I have changed the direction of the fan spin and still no wind. Can someone please help me find out what is wrong with this fan. I paid USD 200,00 and the fan produces no wind!!

The ceiling height is approx 7.22 Feet

Something doesn't add up 5.8' + 16"/12" = 7.13'

I was trying to see how close the blades were to the ceiling and whether it was possible to lower the fan with another downrod.

Another question: What is the size of the room? L x W x H
The fan might be to big or small for the room.

You did not mention whether the three speeds of the fan work. Do they?

Does the "no wind" occur at the highest speed?

A small piece of light paper like toilet paper, say 1" x 4" can sometimes be used as a "telltail". Hold it in your hand and see which way it blows.

Put a little water on your arm and stand at various places in the room. The water should evaporate from your wrist making you feel cooler.

The fan in the heating season basically circulates and mixes the air.
In the summer, it basically evaporates perspiration from your body making you feel cooler.

You will feel more "wind" if a window is open, than you would when there is no air infiltration, so you might try opening a window with the fan on high speed.

If the blades turn and they are all the same color (facing the same direction) there should be air movement. The blades are usually reverseable to match the décor of the room. The blades should all be the same color when you ace the fan.

So I'm thinking:
1) Blades too close to the ceiling
2) The blades installed wrong (not one color)
3) No air to move - a window isn't open
4) Hot air will make you feel less cool than cold air
5) Your not perspiring and the air is hot (Try water on the hand to increase sensation)
6) Fan is too big for the room
Only at the edge of the fan will you likely feel air.

Someone is pulling someone else's leg on this one. LOL

I have attached a pic of the fan for your acknolwgment. I am sure the blades have been mounted correctly as they only have one position to fit

Go back to where you bought it and run the demo unit to see if that one pushes air.

Those are poor quality, overpriced fans but they should move some air. Are you mounting it with a downrod, if so how long? How large is the room?

I have exactly the same problem, my ceiling height is about 8ft, I tried standing on a chair to get closer to the fan yet still no wind. What shall I do?
