They have screens that strain the water but not as fine as a true filter. Is the low pressure during the wash cycle or just during the filling?
I noticed it while filling. We moved and brought the washing machine with us. Immediately upon connecting it we noticed that the flow seems about half of what it was in the old house. Unfortunately, I forgot to blow out the crud in the line before I hooked it up, which is why I was asking about the screen. Do you have any suggestions?
I think we can get the washer working without too much work. Lets start by confirming the washer is getting a good supply from the hot water pipe. Shut off the supply to the machine, easiest place is the stop beneath the sink. Remove the kick plate and you will see the waterline coming around to the front left of the machine right behind the kick plate. Unscrew the brass nut on the cooper line, there will be about a 1/4 cup of water dribbling out so have a towel ready. Direct the copper line intom a bucket or large bowel, turn the supply back on and see if you have really strong pressure. It should be so strong that it is splattering all over even though its going into the bucket. Come back after this little experiment is done. Bob
I'm so sorry for the confusion, but I am actually referring to my clothes washing machine.
Anyway, the idea behind your test remains the same, so I'll give it a try this evening.
I do apologize, you clearly stated washing machine. What was I thinking. There are screens in several locations. You two fill hoses have a screen in both ends of the hose so check them for debris. The screens up at the washer end of the hopes sometimes stick in the machine inlet when you unscrew th hose so look there too if they aren't in the hose end. Hey, now you know how to fix your dishwasher if it ever goes bad. I need to drink more coffee.
What a day in age we live in where we have so many machines to help us :D
I'll check the screens - thanks!
You would be amazed with the new stuff out there. I can now control my thermostat with my cell phone. When I on a trip I turn the heat down to 50 but then call the stat to raise the temp before I return.
