    Child Support over 18
I am in Mass. And have two children. They will be 18 this year but will continue with college. Years ago when we established child support in probate court the rule was that after 18 child support ended. However, I believe this has been changed. Child support and health coverage can continue. Will this new change automatically continue their support or do I have to go to court to have the continuation of support? How do I notify the courts of their enrollment in college? Will support continue regardless, or will their father have to petition to have it stopped? I would prefer not to have any gaps in their coverage so I don't know what I might need to do to establish this with Massachusetts.

Check with your area's Child Support Enforcement Agency, or the local clerk of courts, as I'm sure this varies from state to state. Here in Ohio, support is until the child turns 18, or graduates from high school, whichever is longer, and does not continue through the college years.

Generally this is dictted in the support agreement. The norm is 18 or whenever the child finishes school whichever is later.
