Mahatma Gandhi - I would not consider as the figures of Hinduism!! A mere mortal, albeit a great one.
The basic 3 Gods are Brahma - The Creator, Vishnu - The Protector & Provider & Mahesh (aka Shiva, Nataraja) - The Destroyer.

I am sorry was that a question?
As for the historical figures and events - "Hindusism" is not a religion like any other where one has an "official" book of reference regarding the religion i.e.. The Bible in Christianity, The Koran for the Islamic religion. Hence one will not find a chronological appearance of figures and events in a given date line. Hinduism is more a way of life the origins of which dating back at least 6000 years B.C. or more (as per available evidence.) - where in people share a reasonably similar moral values. The mythological dates may make it even older. Each worshipping a different deity but not to be confused by Paganism.
So it is perhaps better to narrow it down to the particular sect of Hindus ( based generally on which Deity or God they worship) . Then it is easier to mention the Historical Figures and events.
