    Isosceles triangles
I need help with this problem,

A piece of wire 72 inches long is to be used as a triangular Christmas tree ornament. How long should the sides be if the triangle is to be isosceles and the base is to be 6 inches less than one of the equal sides?

let base length be = x

    Each equal side = x + 6

    Total length = 2 (x + 6) + x = 72

    Now get x and x + 6
