No period 11 dates late negative tests
    Hi
I'm 23 and have a 1 1/2 year old boy but now I feel pregnant again. My period is 30-31 days apart and I'm 11 days late my last period was dec. 3 07 it is now jan 14 08 and I do not understand why I have not got my period. I noticed on jan 10- 12 some brown discharge but no bleeding like normal period. I'm sexually active no protection. Last time I had sex was around dec.14-17. I have taken 3 tests one 2 days before period was suppose to come and two a couple days after period was suppose to come all were negative.
    I'm so confused please help!

    Hi!

You can have "spotting" whilst being pregnant and discharge which lots of women experience. It is also possible to have a negative test but still be pregnant - it depends on how much HCG (?) you are producing in your body as this is what the tests read.

The best thing to do is to see your GP and explain that you have had negative results and ask if you could have some bloods taken as these are far more accurate... he/she may want to do a urine test first, but it's worth asking!

The sooner you go, the quicker you'll receive the answers!

    Good luck

Hpts can be wrong. If your hcg levels aren't high enough to register on the hpt, you may get a negative even though you may actually be pregnant. Depending on when you ovulate, etc, your hcg levels will vary. (for example, if you ovulate at the beginning of your cycle, you will be more likely to get a positive when you first miss your period, rather then if you were to ovulate at the end of your cycle, as the hcg would have built up more with early ovulation) hcg levels vary greatly for each different pregnant woman. I suggest you wait until you are 14 days late, and test again. If still negative, wait for your next expected period. Its not uncommon to be late or completely miss a cycle now and then. If you still haven't started by then, and you miss another period, take a qualatative blood test and see your doctor asap.
