    Forward shoulders
I fell when I was about 6 years old on my back and I remember not being breathing for sometime I think as a results I have slight protruding upper rips cage and rotating/forward shoulders
Is there any way to correct that?
Do forwarding shoulders make the shoulders look narrow?
Can it be fixed with surgery?
I have headaches all the time and pain where the neck meet the shoulders and the mid back.

Hi. Have you had x-rays or any test done? If you have headaches and or neck pain you might have injured the spine in that area. If you are able to fix your posture, you might help to alleviate your symptoms. A good stretch is first thing in the morning. It is cal the wall stretch. Stand against the wall making sure to contact the wall with your heel, butt, and upper back(shoulders). Pay attention to your lower back arch. If you have too much of an arch try pressing the lower back in. After making sure that you are doing so, aslide left and then to the right maintaining contact with wall. Do about ten on each side. Try doing this about five to ten times a day. Especially if you sit a lot or feel any discomfort. This movement is just helping you to realighn your spine. After doing that try doing a door stretch for opening the chest area. If your shoulders are rounded you probable have atrophied in the chest. Stand in a door way, lift arms to the side to shoulder height, then with hands contacting both side of the door lean in, make sure you do not arch your back. You should feel the stretch from your shoulder into the chest. Repeat doing this throughout the day at least five times. If you can make it into a gym, you might want to incorporate some resisted exercises to help and strengthened the weak muscles of your back. Working the back helps to strengthen the muscles that support your back and in turn help with posture and body alighnment. The worse thing you can do is to give in and give up your posture. It will lead to more chronic conditions. Good luck.Sloan
