    Regaining Parental Rights
Can you get your parenal rights back after terminating them? If so how? The father of my child and I relinquished our parental rights in order for his mom to legally adopt her to avoid any custody battle that may have caused her emotional distress. I still physically have my daughter and care for all her needs. Her father and I have an agreeable situation to where we both spend equal time with her. I was just wondering if in the future I might be able to legally adopt my daughter back. The only difference is the paperwork, I am still her parent and take care of her. Another thing, The adoption papers went through but there was never a court hearing or anything like that, does that mean anything?

Its highly unlikely. A lot depends on the circumstances of how they were terminated. If you can give us more info we may be able to give you better advice.

I doubt it. Terminating rights is a very serious and drastic step. It is only done in the best interest of the child and isn't taken lightly, thus I doubt a judge would reverse it.

Yes, normally most judges don't allow termination of parential rights very easy, There is normally a serious issue, or a step parent adoption or something.

So it is very unlikely it will happen, all you can do is hire an attorney and try.
