    DVD+RW won't open
I'm having problems with my dvd drive opening. It is a Philips DVD+RW DVD8631. When you click eject from the menu the computer freezes up for a minute while it processes and then nothing. My computer is running off windows XP home edition. Also I can't seem to delete anything from my computer. It also says my recycle bin is corrupted. When I delete files they don't show up in the bin. I am a beginner at this so if anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Try sfc /scannow - you may need your install cd

Disconnect the cd rom drive from the motherboard and when back in system, see if you are able to delete files

Try and run it and see what message comes up with anything, if you know someone who has it, see if you can borrow one
