When I drain the bath tub the toilet bubbles, and the tub stops draining

Your drain line is blocked after the two fixture come together. You might luck out using a toilet auger but they only reach about 5'. If you don't open the blockage you could pull the toilet and rod down that pipe or try rodding down the overflow cap on the tub once you remove th two screws holding the cap.
