Building my shower pan from scratch.
Hi, I've built a bathroom in my basement and am now starting on the shower. I realize I need to install a rubber membrane before anything else, going up the walls at least six inches. After that I would need to install my drain, which has a total of three parts to it. I've already put in the first part of the drain before the membrane goes in. The second part of the drain would be screwed in on top of the membrane and finally the threaded part on top. My shower is three feet wide by six feet long. My question is: When putting in the membrane, how far should it go over the threshold. Can it go all the way over and out, or should I stop midway over the threshold? Also, when pouring my cement, I'm planning on one-eighth-of-an-inch per foot traveled, is this sufficient?
