    NY City Resident Tax
Work in NYC, but live in Long Island (Suffolk County). Do I need to pay NY -City Resident tax?

I have checked the entire forum but could not find a similar post or everyone knows the answer already?

    Thank you!

    Zmedia:

Though I do not live in NY, I prepare a number of tax returns for NY- and NJ-based clients.

In my opinion, Long Island is not considered part of NYC. Hence, you would not be liable for NYC income taxes.

However, to be sure, a phone call to the NYC comptroller office (212-669-7782) or an e-mail ([email protected]) would probably answer your question.
