    My Puppy Won't Eat.
Ok, I have never used this site before so I don't know if I even went to the right area for my question, BUT, I have an 8 month old Chawiener. She is a small dog that isn't expected to get over 4-5 pounds. The past few weeks she has been refuseing to eat more than a bite or 2 of food. She used to eat the whole bowl. She is losing weight and it scares me. She doesn't seem to be hungry but one or 2 bites won't fill up the skinniest of dogs! She has alsways been skinny, but I never used to be able to see ribs. She has also been drinking less water than normal. I used to have to fill her bowl once or twice a day, now it is 1 or twice every other day. What is wrong with my poor puppy?:(

If your dog has stopped eating and losing weight maybe you need to take her to the vet.
Discuss with your vet how much she should be eating per day. Seeing some of your dogs ribs is not a bad thing.

Chawiener, you dog needs a vet exam. I am sorry to say that we cannot possibly diagnose this issue online. It could be anything, or nothing. At 4-5 pounds, a dog doesn't need a lot of food, so it is hard to figure out what you mean when you say "a whole bowl" once or twice a day. As bushg advises, discuss with your vet how much food your dog should be eating on a daily basis. You may only need to feed her a 1/2 cup of food once a day. Your dog may simply be telling you that she is not hungry or there could be a medical issue going on that needs immediate attention. Please call your vet and make an appointment as soon as possible.
