Hi there I'm 20 yrs of age and want to no how I go about becoming a Funeral Director as it is something I have always wanted to do and like to do my best for people who need help, comforting,reassuring,and as much support and guidance as needed.

You need to check your states laws for certification, commonly requiring education classes... I know our local community college has a program for this in our area. Usually you need the equiv of an associates degree (about 2 years work), pass a certification exam, apprentice/intern for a year or more, and you might be required to continue education, as you see in other "health" care professions.

Outside of that, you can contact local colleges or even talk to someone at a funeral home... see if they offer internship work so you can see what its like... or see if someone is willing to go out to lunch for a talk about the profession (buy their lunch)

Hi there thank you for getting back to me so quick.. well I was just looking at a websight about funeral directors and it said trainig will be giving on the job will that be the right way to go into that job or shall I study at collage or what ever frst?

State laws will differ on the licensing you need to be a funeral director.

Have you thought about becoming a grief counselor. My sister in law is a nurse and went into this field. It can be demanding and emotionally tough, though.
