    I'm pregnant & need answers!
Okay.. so I just found out that I'm about 2 weeks pregnant! I'm going to the doctor on Friday, but I just want some answers now if possible. I just had a miscarriage at the beginning of sept. The told me to have 3 regular periods before I tired again, which I did. What do you think my chances are of having another one.. and.. is it to safe to dye your hair at any point during pregnancy, whiten your teeth, and do your nails? Answer if you can help please!

Don't do anything chemical to your hair dying or perming, etc...

Painting your nails should be okay don't smell the fumes if you do.

    Dk about whitening teeth,

Take your prenatal vitamins plus folic acid and omega fatty acid

I'd recommend you visit the website of Utah's pregnancy risk line. They analyze all the science that is available on what is safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding. You can email them questions. The answers would depend on what specific types of hair dyes, teeth whiteners, etc that you are wanting to use. They have some fact sheets that may answer your questions. Here is the link:

I have had 4 miscarriages and two full term pregnacies. The odds are you probley will have another miscarriage but as you see there is a great possibiltiy you won't. Take each day in stride make you doctors aware of your health and keep all of your appointments and be sure to take those prenatal vitamins I started when I even suspected I may be pregnant.
As for coloring etc, some shy away but I colored my hair with no problems. Do however limit fish and talk to your doctor about eating it to work on a plan I had craving for tuna but was told to not consume during my pregnancy.

I was told there was no problem coloring hair. I did it with no problems. (Miscarried first - had 2 successful pregnancies afterward.) If you end up having a C-section they will want the false nails and nail polish off - it helps them monitor your oxygen level if they can tell your nails are the right color, i.e. pink rather than blue. I wasn't given any info on teeth whitening. Ask your doctor. They will load you up with pamphlets of what to eat and what not to eat (like the tuna - mercury concerns); don't handle cat poop - another bacteria concern, etc.

There are pregnancy websites all over the place with helpful info and tickers that let you count down your pregnancy.

    Congratulations and good luck!

In my own opinion. It is normal after having a miscarriage to worry about the next one being successful. No one really can say what will happen. My wife had one, the next pregnancy we ended up with a beautiful baby boy.

The biggest suggestion is try your best to feel relaxed. Take your prenatel vitamins and folic acid. Most prenatels have folic acid in it, but your doctor might recommend you take more folic acid. It depends on your family history.

As far as anything chemical. I would suggest you not take the chanch. Best wishes on this journey.

U shouldn't really worry too much! I had a miscarriage July 5 2007 I was 3 months!! And then they told me to wait at least a month before trying again! My last period was oct 5 07 and I am now 2 days away from 15 weeks.. so they told me to hold back on sex for a month.. so pretty much it took 2 months for me to get pregnant! U shouldn't have anything to worry about yah it is stressful until you get past the point of a high miscarriage which is 3 months! So don't stress out about it! I hope everything works out the best for u.. keep us updated!! GOOD LUCK!

And for colouring your hair I haven't seen any problems with as long as there are no harmful chemicals so when you do decide to do your hair! Ask the hair dresser if there are any harmful chemicals in the dye that can harm your baby.. I hurd that it is best to wait the 3 months until you are out of your first trimester.. thats what my doctor told me but just look if there are any bad chemicals in it.. then you shouldn't have anything to worry about...
