    Signning over rights
I have a problem with my ex-wife. I need to know what I can do about signing over my rights. I pay chield support, but I have no say so what goes on in my child's life. I was chields to have her for thanksgiving . The ex-wife would not let me have her. Then she moved to Illinois, and I haven't seen her since. What can I do?

Well it sounds like youi don't need to sign over any rights, you are not using your rights and paying child support, that is what happens if you sign them away anyway.

You still have to pay child support if you were even allowed to sign over your rights, unless your ex has a new partner that is willing to adopt your child.

    1. if your child support agreement said she could not move out of the state, you should have went back to court to stop her from moving

    2. you have to go back to court to force her to allow you to visit the child, and hold her in contmept of court if she does not.

But anyway, signing over rights does not stop child support, there would not be 1000's of people in jail for not paying if they could easily get out of it.

First you cannot sign over your rights. If you had checked the many threads on this issue would would have learned that already.

What you CAN do is go back to the court and report your wife in violation of the court ordered visitation. If she moved out of state without your approval and the courts then she is in contempt of court.
