    2" brass shower drain
Is there a tool that can take a 2" shower drain out without cutting the trap out? Stephen

If it's a brass drain, then it is likely a 'No-Caulk' drain.

There should be a round brass 'nut' under the grid which will screw out counter clockwise by gently tapping the indents in the brass "nut" with a flat blade screwdriver and a hammer.

There will be a rubber donut under the nut, which can be pried out with a bent coat hanger or a reasonable facsimile.
