My sisters husband married her for green card!
My sister had a love marriage and now that after 5 years of marriage as soon as he got his green card her told her he don't love her anymore and told her to leave the house. She found out from his friends that he married her for green card and also he is cheating on her, she can't give him a divorce because he will walk away with the green card, what can we do?? :(

He doesn't automatically get to keep the green card if she divorces him, in general he would lose the green card if they divorce unless he can prove she was cheating.

She should divorce him, in most cases he will lose the green card once this happens.

I take it you have no brothers or men in your family. It sounds like he needs to be taken out back.

While I sort of agree, this is not what the question was about. This was a question based on what would happen from an immigration law standpoint.

She can report him to INS but she will get questioned also about the fraud. As in, why didn't she have an idea, since this type of fraud is very in the news and prevalent. Sad when it happens to those that really do love the person. But as LT stated, she should divorce him and that should take care of him.
