Yes; motor home interest CAN be deducted as mortgage interest if the motor home serves as either a first or second home.

That is one reason they are so popular.

Thanks for the help. One more question, if we stay in an RV Park for 6 months or longer can we take our monthly rent off anywhere in Federal taxes?
    Thanks

Negative. Rent is NOT deductible unless it is associated with the business use of your home.

If you are running a business out of your motor home, you could deduct the rent on a pro-rated basis depending on how much of the motor home is being used EXCLUSIVELY for the business.

What paperwork if any is needed for this deduction?
Is there a minimum motorhome usage reqt to make this deduction?
Where do I put the deduction on the Form 1040? (I cannot find reference to it on instructions for Sched A)

You list it in the deductible interest section of Schedule as "second home mortgage interest".

As for the required paperwork, I would ask the loan company for a letter stating what amount of the payments made in the calendar were interest and what were principal.

To my knowledge, there is NO minimum usage requirement.
