What type of Pex Tubing Should I use?
I would appreciate any advice I can get on the use and installation of PEX tubing for a personal residence that is about to be constructed. We are going to be doing all of the contracting and some of the work ourselves to make the project affordable. With that said, we are considering having a plumber come in and install all of the waste piping and vents and possible taking on the task of installing the supply lines ourselves.

Is there a certain type of PEX tubing to purchase? What tools do we need? Is this the best type of product now that copper is being phased out? Do I need special manifolds

    Thanks in advance!

This is a personal preference, but I have to disagree with James in regards to either Zurn-Pex or Rahau-Pex, particularly in the case of Zurn-Pex.

    My personal preference is Wirsbo's (Uponer's) Aqua-Pex.

Hello IMAGROWLER. In your answer above you mention Wirsbo's (Uponer's) Aqua-Pex as your preference which is why I am writing. From the research I have done, Wirsbo's (Uponer's) Aqua-Pex seems like the best choice. I am in Seattle as well and I am wondering if Wirsbo's (Uponer's) Aqua-Pex is sold at any retail location in Seattle or do I need to get it from online? Also, since I have your attention, do you have any thoughts on the tools - manual vs air vs battery?

    Thanks
