I use a hose to fill the steam tables here at school and the health department wanted me to install a back pressure release, which I did. However, whenever I turn the water off, water pours all over the floor. It looks like this is what the release is suppose to do, but it certainly makes a mess. Is there anything else that I could possibly use that would would the same thing, but without the water issue. In 30 years, this is the first time it has ever been mentioned.

No, I am afraid I don't have the brand. I got it at the hardware store and it came in a small zip lock bag.

I'm sorry it took so long to get back to you. There are threads where it attaches to the faucet, but where the water pour out is a series of holes. I am sending a photo of that side. I hope you receive it.

Did the health inspector say "back pressure release" or possible a check valve?
That is a vacuum breaker and if water is pouring out of the holes, then it is doing what it is supposed to do.Quote:

The dark blue one should meet your needs. Check Valves I am very surprised that there is not sink in a school kitchen that doesn't already have a back flow faucetinstalled.
