Start at American Kennel Club - akc.org. Go to the specific breed you are interested in. You may then need to follow some of their links. There may be some good material at Articles

I am not into bloodlines, and most of the regulars here are more into rescue. Somebody may have more help than I would expect.

I'm not entirely sure what your question is. A bloodline is merely a listing of who the dog's ancestors are. Now, within a breed, certain bloodlines may be noted for different traits. For examples, border collies have certain bloodlines that are "show" dogs, and others that are "working" dogs, so if you are looking for a dog that is more suited to showing or working, you want to get a dog from the right bloodline. But, if you are just looking for a pet, then you probably really don't care. And if you do care, the only real way to find out about them is to hang out with people who are into whatever activity you are trying to get into and talk to them. For example, if you want a show dog from a good line, you need to go to dog shows, study the breed, find out what lines the current high-quality dogs come from, and work from there. Which won't guarantee that your dog will be a winner, but will let you know what faults and positive traits you are likely to get in a puppy from that line.
