    Trip Lever drain stays closed
I have a gerber Trip lever Drain in my tub. The drain stays closed. When I push lever up it will not stay in place. I have taken it apart and cannot figure out why. Can you help. Also where can I get part for this?

I'll bet the "bell" is stuck. When you removed the trip lever, can you pull the mechanism out?

The length can be somewhat critical. The machanism is usually a cylinder with a thin wall. This obstructs the outlet of the tub and is raised and lowered by the trip lever. The cylinder is hollow because it allows the overflow to work by allowing dranage through the cylininder in all positions.
