Needing to move out of state
My family moved to Illinois for custody of his son by a previous marriage. Due to child abuse/neglect. We received joint custody with father as custodial parent in which child lives with him. She doesn't work or take care of him during visitation. Since we have moved I have been unable to find work in my field. My husband doesn't make enough to pay basic bills here. We have ended up on assistance and now I am having to go for surgery. We have no family here and are needing someone to stay with the children from 4 am to 9 pm at night. We are wanting to move back home which is 9 hours from us. We own a home, in that state and my husband and I can make 4 times what we do here. Which will allow for us to take care of all 4 children. My mother in law takes care of the children while we work or in case of any emergency. So no sitters are needed. By moving we would have health insurance, better school system, more income so the kids could have basic needs meet, as well as we could afford housing since our payment on the home is 1/4 of what it is here to rent. Any suggestions on what we should do, if we let him go back to her I am afraid he will start running away again. As well as be abused more than before. I wonder if the court will understand the move, if we give her more uninterrupted visitation time with him.
    Thank you

If the child is/was abused by the mother, why would you agree to give her more uninterrupted time with him? Take your proof that she is unfit to Court -

We don't want to give her more time, but we are being told we may have to. The move would greatly benefit all the children.
