A special Computer Timer/ Web Filter
Because I don't have much self control and I use forums, viral video sites, auction sites, review sites and various other sites to procrastinate instead of doing homework. I'm looking for a web filter/computer timer that can block webpages for certain times during the day (for example block YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. from 9am to 7am - meaning I only have 2 hours to use YouTube to procrastinate every day).

I've looked at many computer timers but I haven't seen any that describe the above.

    Instead they say:
    - Time limits can be set on the entire computer, or all of the internet, or chatting, etc.
    - Web pages and system settings can be blocked or locked.
It seems that these are separate functions. So that means they can't be programmed by me, a parent (or whoever the administrator may be) to only be viewable at certain times!? Which is what I need.

Does anyone know of a computer timer that can allow me to block specific sites for specific periods?

    Thanks so much

The easiest way is to do like I did to my modem and router

During the night I had a small timer to turn off internet

The modem and router come on the next morning

This also prevented unwanted access from hackers

If computer can not see internet -- no hackers

    Hi biggsie,
I appreciate your response but I don't think you understand... the last thing I want is the whole computer or the entire world wide web to be blocked for any period... ever!

For example: Let's say I have a project that I left to the last minute and the whole internet is blocked = me failing a project = me crying = not what I want.

I appreciate your help I'm just clairifying everything, in case what I'm asking is confusing to others as well. So... I need a program that can: block specific sites for a specific duration of time.

Edit-- Oh and I'm not that worried about hackers/crackers.

    Thanks
