    Malfunctioning Sink Sprayer
    Hello,

I'm having an issue with my sink sprayer and I can't narrow down what part might be the problem, so I'm hoping someone can help.

When I squeeze the sprayer, a full spray comes out of all the holes for a fraction of a second, then the flow dies down to a dribble. This will happen as many times as I squeeze it - it seems like it builds up enough water pressure for that initial burst but then loses pressure. I figure if it were the diverter, nothing would come out and if the sprayer were clogged, the initial burst wouldn't occur.

It looks like maybe there is a small leak underneath the sink (I discovered this when I was going to turn the water off and take the faucet apart), but I can't isolate where it is coming from. It seems like that could cause a pressure loss; can anyone confirm?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Could the sprayer hose be kinked or compressed?

It it is that could be the site of a small crack in the hose

    Best of luck

What you describe about "When I squeeze the sprayer, a full spray comes out of all the holes for a fraction of a second, then the flow dies down to a dribble." really does sound like the diverter having a problem. So, I would suggest still checking out if the diverter needs to be replaced. It's possible that there might be a small leak that you have now found. But, I would still suggest checking out if it is the diverter. That's my suggestion, anyway.

Besides a kinked hose, crud at the entrance could also cause the problem. The diverter? It is going to open at first and then close? I will believe that when Tom says so.
