    Sick cat and no vet
Thank you all for your help with my sick cat problem, medicine seems to be working and this morning his breathing is a little easier and he actually went out to bathroom. Now I am worried about eating or drinking... he has not eaten or drank any water since yesterday morning... what should I do? Should I be worried?

Didn't see your earlier posts on the subject but an animal that won't take water can be pretty sick. Have you tried a little water on your finger and wetting the cat's face near the mouth to get it started? Going to the bathroom is a good sign, hopefully all was normal and firm there? Wouldn't worry too much about no food yet but try to get the animal to at least taste some water or milk.

Maybe you could get it to eat a little bit of cooked ham and I do mean little, sometimes the salt in the ham will encourage the animal to drink... as long as it's not dehyrated already.. if it is you may have to use a syringe and force feed it.. try a little warm chicken broth.. good luck..

Neil.. another thing you could try is to get him to eat canned/wet cat food.. at least there is some water in it. If you can get water packed tuna try adding a teaspoon the water from the tuna into a teaspoon of regular water.
Until he started drinking water I would not offer him dry food.
