    Rushing air sound in ducts
For the past week or so we have noticed very loud air rushing sounds in our duct system. It is loudest in the rooms at the end of the duct system. This occurs whether the gas heat pump is on or off and doesn't change if gas or electricity is turned off. Help! It is loud and annoying.

If the sound does not change when on or off I do not believe it is a furnace or duct work problem. All you can do is try to isolate the noise to find out where it is coming from.
    Sorry but no help here.

Check your filter. Many times a partially clogged filter will result in a rushing noise and diminish your heating/cooling as well.
