Looking to go from Sole to Joint Mortgage
    Hello everyone...
Happy new year by the way!
I'm currently looking to join my mothers mortgage, and was wondering how I would go about doing that, ideally it wouldn't be a half and half sort of arrangement(more 30/70 in her favour), is it just a case of my mother saying that she wants someone else to join and then specifying an amount (amount to be paid per month that is)...
I won't actually be living there only joining the mortgage...
Any help/info that can be provided will be very much appreciated
    Thanks
    Matt

If you get on on to someone's mortagage you will be responsible 100 percent if the other perosn doesnot pay.
And the choice of who pays how much is between the parties. You can have a contract with her.
But to be added you will have to do a new refi.

    Hello m:

There's another way to go about it.

I don't think you really want to "share the mortgage" so much as you want to help your mother. That can be accomplished by entering into a separate agreement with her outlining what your obligations are and hers in return.

Otherwise, as the Padre said, the bank isn't going to let you jump on board.
