I wanted to know if its okay to ask the person your dating if they ever had sex before. Some say it's none of your business, but I kind of feel that with the problem of STDs and stuff it is appropriate that this question be asked. Am I wrong or right? If I should ask then how should I do it so I don't come off as rude? Thanks for the help!

Back in the day we never asked but always carried a condom in our wallets.Nowadays you should still keep condoms handy as std's are still around ,so is aids and pregnancy.:cool:

Well I personally wouldn't care if the person I was dating asked me that question. But yes you are probably right I shouldn't ask since it really isn't any of my business.

Yes it may be true about stds but there are people that have aids and never had sex. They were born with it. It is important to ask though if they have tested positive for a disease as protection to yourself and it would be wise that they let you know if they are a virgin so that you know to be gentle with them. I however think its going to far to ask how many they slept with or how the guys were in bed. That's getting a little too personal and obsessive if you ask me.

Thanks for the advice. I really do appreciate it. Well I had never planned on asking how many partners she has had. I simply wanted to know whether she was a virgin. However it honestly really doesn't matter so I'm just not going to ask anytime time soon. I know the topic will eventually surface so I'll wait to disscuss it until then. Thanks for the help!

In light of STDs and what not, it's always good to know someone's history. Probably the best way to bring it up is in a roundabout way. Talk with the other person openly and honestly about his/her past relationships in all aspects, not just sexual. If you do this the sexual part will come up soon enough and you'll know what you need to know.

If you do not know a person well enough to both know from frank talks you have been having, and from a long time of knowing each other,

You should first not be thinking of having sex with them anyway.

Next you also even if they say no, have to act and assume they have, and always use protection. ( sadly women like men often lie)

A couple when they are at a stage to become sexually active need a open and honest relationship.

Well I would have to say wait a few months to ask them and after a few months the way I would ask them is if there a virgin I think that's the nicest way to ask them if you wanted to

If you can't say to a person, hey are you a virgin? Then you probobly shouldn't say hey you want to have sex?
