GE Kenmore Dryer shuts off stops in the middle of cycle
I have a Kenmore GE Gas Dryer Model # 110.70932990 that is 8 yrs old. Recently, it stops in middle of the drying cycle. Sometime when I restart the cycle from start it completes the cycle. Also, sometimes the heat will not come on. I have check the lint areas in the dyer and they are clean. I have not removed that back vent 3-4" pipe to see if it is blocked. Any ideas? Electronics, motor, vent? Thanks

I also have a kenmore gas dryer and it recently give me some of the same grief. My repair man told me to remove the back panel and check the vent tubing for clog.(something that will prevent it from heating) I removed the panel, remove the long vent tube, stuck my entire arm down the tube and lo and behold, it was filled with lint, (4)fistful of it. The inside of the exterior vent trap on the exterior wall some have a wire netting that clogs and lint cannot escape, causing total clog to the dryer. I removed that outside piece of vent on the wall and remove the wire mesh from it, replace it and walla I have HEAT. As for the stopping in the midst of a cycle... am not sure, but did you check the belt? There is a belt that turns the drum, maybe its worn and slipping. To see the belt, you'd have to remove the front panel from the dryer.. Good luck..

There may be lint covering the motor and it is getting hot. Should clean it. Always disconnect the electrical plug before doing this. Don't want to light up your eyes.
