    Old credit card debt
    I have about 5 judgments for old credit card debt I don't have an income or home car etc.. In my name and am married if I can go bankrupt would my spouse be affected

    Yes. If she is not a party to the bankruptcy the affect might be minimal, but there would be some affect.

    However, I think it may be too late. The time to go bankrupt was before you got the judgements. I'm not sure if the judgements can be discharged as par tof the bankruptcy. You should get a consult with a bankruptcy atty.

    Debtor's prison ceased to exist in the 19th century. You won't go to jail for defaulting on a debt.

    Well what about when you have 5 judgments and frozen bank account and wage garnish from sheriff and I didn't go to court I wonder do I have warrants now do 2 this I say I'm scared

    Doesn't matter how many debts you have. You won't go to jail for them.

    However, ignoring court summons is not the smart thing to have done.
