Removing windows from a cinder block building
My group occupies an almost 50 year building. We are finally able to replace the casement windows with double-hung ones. The only problem is to save money we opted to remove the windows ourselves. The casement windows have are metal frame and are set in cinder block walls. How do we go about removing them without damaging the block?

    Thanks

I think an air chisel may be the easiest way to remove the windows

What comes to mind is when I used to remove the end of a 55 gallon

Barrel and had a very smooth edge inside the rim of barrel ( I could

Remove an end in less than a minute ) the angle is important, very low angle,

You start at one corner and work toward the other... think you want to force

Edge to bend in and leave a 1/4" gap around frame -- then a crow bar or

big pry bar to push edge in so you have 1/2" gap this should be enough to

Allow you to saw or chisel straps or metal that holds window in place--caving

Sides and top and bottom in should make the frame come out better

If there are windows or cross bars they should be removed if possible
