    Pregnancy Test
I just took a pregnancy test and it came back positive. Could it be a mistake? Should I take another test?

If it came back positive, you are pregnant. You should contact your OB/GYN for a prenatal exam. Until that time, go to your local pharmacy and get some prenatal vitamins.

Rarely does a pregnancy test have a false negative as the hormone that it is testing for, hCG, is produced by a fetus. If there is not fetus, there is no hCG, thus a negative test.

Is there a particular pregnancy test that I should take? Which one is best?

Do you still think my test is accurate if I was only supposed to start my mc today?

It is incredible rare to get a false positive pregnancy test result. If it turns out as a false positive it is more likely because you had a miscarriage, then you really getting a false test result. These tests react to hcg (pregnancy hormone) in your system. As J9 said, if the pregnancy hormone is present, so most likely is a pregnancy. If you are still unsure, take another hpt, or better yet, take a blood test at your local hospital. The blood tests are more accurate then hpts, and not much more expensive. You should also make a doctors appointment. In most cases for insurance purposes, they send you to get a " proof of pregnancy" test done, before they even take as a patient. So that could be your next test. Its entirely up to you. However, you need to get in to the doctor, as proper prenatal care is essential.

Well, it is official! I am pregnant! I am not sure how far along because my last period was light and only two days. I go for a ultrasound on the 26th. I am not sure how I am supposed to be feeling, but so far I just get a little light headed sometimes and today my lower back is really achy, is this normal?
