    Hair color dilemma
    Hello,
I naturally have a dark brown colored hair. A couple of years ago I dyed it lighter. My hair has natural reds and gold to it, that come out with sunlight and such, and those natural colors also came through the hair dye. I would really like to just go back to my natural color of dark brown, but I just don't know how. My hair isn't really damaged or anything. The thing I'm concernd about it never being able to get back to my natural color so that I can stop dying it. Once the color is out I do not plan on dying it for a very very long time. Is there any way to get the dye out of my hair, and leave my natural color undamaged? Or do I have to wait until it just grows out and cut the color off?

If your hair is light or blonde, you must first re-pigment your hair to go brown. Going from light to brown may require a two-step coloring process. When your hair was chemically lightened, it took out the red tones. So if you put a dark color over bleached hair or chemically lightened hair, it may result in an unpleasant color such as green. In order to have a decent brown color, you will need to put back the red tones in your hair by using a reddish or auburn hair color, then you can re-color your hair brown. It is best to let a professional attempt the coloring process.

Is there anything that will remove hair dye?

Yes, you can use a hair color remover. You will find it at a beauty supply store.
