I'm unsure of the actual age/make/model of the unit but I am told it's not very old, it's forced air, and is gas. From time to time the furnace will work just fine for a day or so and then it will simply not come on for a couple of days. The thermostat was replaced with a fancy digital one and we are having the same problem. Our heating/cooling company has been up four times and each time they say they cannot find anything -- that the furnace itself has no problems and they cannot see anything else that would be causing the trouble. Does anyone have any idea at all as to what the problem might be?

A few more facts: once, in frustration, I went down to the circuit breaker and flipped the furnace's switch off and on a number of times (it had not flipped on its own -- I had hoped that that was the problem) and the furnace came on. I've tried that little trick a few times since then; it worked reliably at first but now that trick is as unpredictable as the furnace itself. We are so cold -- help!

Well Here Goes, Sometimes It Works Sometimes It Don't ,loose Control Board Wiring To Start. Tighten All Connections With Power Off Hehe... Then Jump Out The Door Switch At Blower Compartment So U Can Watch The Lights On The Board, You Have To Know The Sequence Of Operation, Watch What The Light Does Right When U Connect A Wire Between W And R At The Control Board. If The Inducer Starts Right Up And Unit Doesn't Start But Inducver Runs, Disconnect Wire From The Pancake Swith Aka Vacum Switch With The Hosefrom The Inducer Disconnect One Lead The Reconnect It Right Away. What Happens Does Unit Run. Sometimes The Switch Will Close Before The Sequence Wiill Start, And The Furnace Won't Fire. This Is Either A T Stat Or A Control Board Issue.
