We have a Kenmore Elite Model 665.15952 (or 15953/15954/15959) Dishwasher.

After six months of not using the dishwasher, whenever one presses the "Start" (or any other) button, only the "Quick Rinse" light blinks on and off. There is no sound, and no dish washing.

I've turned off the house circuit breaker for 5 minutes, then on again, with no change.

If there is some way to re-set --or otherwise fix-- the machine, please let me know.

Check the door switch and raise the float switch up and down a few times to make sure it's not sticking. Happy New Year

Thank you esquire1. I checked the door switch (moved m&f ends) and moved the float switch. No change, except I did notice that the door handle has absolutely no resistance when I squeeze it with the door open. Also the machine did start briefly, showing a "2" in the display... then stopping again. Otherwise its still the blinking "Quick Rinse" light and no sounds of life from the machine. - questra

If you are careful and work safely you can jumper the door switch to see if it will work that way. If that makes no difference, check and make sure there are no burnt or broken wires. If that proves OK then the control panel is more than likely the culprit. You will not see any resistanc of the handle with the door open as it pushes the latch upward on the unit to make contact when the door closes

YOu can also try pressing heated was then heated dry one after the other 5 times. This can reset the unit

Thanks esquire1. This model (Kenmore Elite Under-counter Dishwasher model number 665.15952000) does not have "Heated Wash" or "Heated Dry." If you know the Re-set Code for this model, I would like to try that.

On this model, the Control Panel (on top of door), selection options are, from left to right: "Anti-Bacterial > Pots/Pans > Normal Wash > China Gentle > Time Saver > Quick Rinse > Hi Temp Scrub > Sani Rinse > Air Dry."

The Front Panel 2 options are: "Start > Cancel."

PS: I will also check for broken/burnt wires inside the door as you mentioned.
