Ask Me Help Desk - Day date with ex girlfriend

I'm supposed to meet my ex girlfriend on Monday for a day date. The only problem is we can't seem to figure out what to do! There are definitely strong feelings still present for both of us but I have another girlfriend now who I've been with for about a year and a half so absolutely NOTHING is going to happen and we're not getting back together, we just haven't seen each other in over a year and want to catch up. And yes, my girlfriend knows I'm seeing her and swears she's totally OK with it and hasn't shown any signs to make me think otherwise..
I just need ideas on where to go that doesn't create an awkward or sexually tense situation... help

Strong feelings but you aren't going back together... Common, the same bullshiit... again and again... and here is where everything begins... first date, and than "wow, it was great to have that coffe with you, how about another one, and so on" and you end cheating on your girlfriend... I have seen this movie so many times, even experienced such a thing, and there is nothing in the world that can make me think different. And by the way, look at the way you are talking right now about your "another gf". Your girlfriend knows it or it was you that told her about you having the date with your ex? That's a difference, but not so important. What's more important, did you told her you still feel for your ex? I guess she doesn't showed you any sign that she knows it, but I can tell you, she already knows it, and right now, is thinking for the worse. By the way, what if your new girlfriend told you she doesn't feel OK with you having a coffe with your ex, because you still have feelings toward each other? What would you do? See your girlfriend in a different light, because she wants you, but not your past in her relation with you, a relation that she invested time and effort for 1.5 years? Or maybe you see her like someone who doesn't let you do what you whatever you want to do? Why these kind of people like you still try to show to us like angels, like "no, absolutely, im not going to nothing against my girlfriend (well, i think so)". Your girlfriend told you she is OK with it, but make yourself that question, instead of her! It doesn't sound you are exclusively with her, let alone talking about future with her, do you?

MY OPINION: You would be better off meeting a total stranger than meeting wit someone you have an emotional tie with. Too many chances to ruin your current relationship. If your current girlfriend says it's OK don't take it literally. She could be allowing you to make your own correct choices and just be standing by to see which road you'll go down.

The other thing you might want to consider is, if the shoe was on the other foot what you you have said when asked for permission? What if she comes to you later and ask to do the same thing with her ex and references the fact that she let you do it before? DO you really want to open that can of worms?
