    Long menstrual cycle
    i've been on my period now for three weeks:mad: . this has happened once before, and they put me on birth control. but i don't want to do that again, i hate taking it:( .
    is there anything else i can do to stop my cycle?:confused:

    Other things you should know;
    I am anemic.
    Last time this happened, I went to the obgyn, and they said everything seemed normal so they just put me on the pill. I stopped taking it after 4-5 months because though it helped regulate, I didn't like the affects at all. I have been off it for about ten or so months. There have been some irregularities; not having it for a few months.. then for 7 days.. then for 3 days.
    I have never been pregnant, am not sexually active, and am only 18.

    I am not a doctor. But I'll tell you what has worked for me, my sister and one of our friends. Tincture of Shepard's Purse. It stopped that "I've been bleeding since forever" thing. It took a day or two to stop the blood completely. It's available in health food stores.

    Staying home, with your feet up helps stop excessive menstruation too. Most women must go to work though, and cannot do that much lying around. A naturopathic physician may be able to help you too. Being on the pill, yeah. It works, but at what emotional and physical costs?
