    Goodman furnace controlboard
I have a Goodman furnace. At first the furnace blower was going on and off when the flame was on. Heard clicking noise like it was recycling. Control board was showing 4 lights which means open limit switch. So why replace control board? But I did on advise and had it replace by the technician. Now its doing the opposite the flame won't ignite but for a few seconds, but the fan will run. Is it possible that it wasn't the Control board the first time. Now he wants me to have the flame sensor replaced. The new board is blinking once for ignition failure and that wasn't the problem before. Hard to believe that everything goes out all at once. Want to make sure I'm not getting taken for a ride. And its getting expensive! $$$ What do you recommed?

Flame sensor is your next option. What you describe sounds like a flame sensor problem. Some people clean them with sand paper but you service man will probably replace it.

It could have been a combination of both parts that caused the problem. Circuit boards are expensive. Did you keep the old board? I would for a spare.
Just for the heck of it. Watch the furnace guy replace the flame sensor. The next time you can do it because it is simple.
