    Frigidaire side-by-side clicks
My fridge has been going through clicking spells for the last few months. Every time the cooling unit turns on or off, the thing clicks like crazy. It's really annoying and loud. This clicking does not seem to adversely affect the fridge, but it's annoying to be woken up by it at 3a.m. every night. Can someone help me? I don't have the model number with me now, but I can find it.

Pull it away from the wall to see if you can see the compressor - or one of the lines coming off it - vibrating against something else.

If you can see it, then just wedge a piece of rubber or something in there.

Another possible cause is the compressor itself going bad... and in that case your only option is to live with it until it goes out - then either have it repaired or get a new fridge.

Could be a relay, although usually they only click on start up. Do what ever you have to to get at where the clicking seems to come from. Then pull the plug in mid cycle and see if you can localize the clicking. Don't plug it in right away, it is hard to start and stop in a few minutes. That is why many appliances fail after a power failure.
