    Child support joint custody
We have joint custody with me having primary physical custody. My ex husband does not have a child support order in place. I would like to apply for one but have heard that you can't get child support with a joint custody order? And do I have to have a lawyer for this? He lives in another state and just left for Korea for 15 months.

Most joint custody does not have support, since you are both suppose to have the child 1/2 of the time, YOu may want to have an attorney, since it may be possible if you are keeping the child more than 1/2 of the time, to motify the motion

I can tell you form my case you can get child support form your X, But it does depent on how offen you split the kids up. The support goes by parenting time and how much money the parents make. You will need to get a attorny for all of this.
