15 amp circuit replacing with 20 amp breaker
I have a 15 amp circuit in my living room and it keeps tripping the breaker, I was wondering if it would be safe on the circuit to just replace my 15 amp breaker with a 20 amp breaker and call it good, it this safe and/or legal?

Just for info I'm in North American 120v circuit that's all I know I'm not too much of an electrical whiz

Only in the unlikely case of it being wired up with #12 or heavier wire. Every inch of the circuit! It is possible if the old breaker has tripped too many times replacing it would help. Replacing any regular light bulbs with compact flouresent ones would help or other more efficient lights.
